Why We Exist
Young Nak Celebration Church is a missional community that CONNECTS people to God and to one another, SERVES in ministry, and EXTENDS God's kingdom. The fullest expression of being a missional community is to “bring people in” and “send people out”. That is, we seek to bring those who are unchurched into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through an experience of the gospel and, also, to send those who are churched out into the communities, both locally and around the world, that they may impact the world for Christ. Here are some other characteristics that we seek to achieve as a missional community:
CHARACTERISTICS OF MISSIONAL COMMUNITY
YNCC is externally focused.
- As a missional community, we intentionally look outside the walls of our church to bring people into relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Our perspective of God's activity is kingdom-centric, not church-centric meaning that we see God always at work in the world, not just in the church, and our task is the join him "out there."
YNCC is incarnational.
- We are a community of people being trained and equipped to live among the world as missionaries.
- We live among the people, speak the language, wear the clothes, and submerge into the culture we want to reach.
- YNEM is culturally engaged without being absorbed.
- We are not afraid to engage the culture and submerge ourselves in it, short of sin. Also, we're not afraid to bring the culture into our church, short of sin.
- We live in the tension of being culturally "liberal" yet theologically conservative.
YNCC is mindful of unbelievers.
- We have a great deal of care for people who don't believe in Jesus and value people of all beliefs and worldviews.
- We place no pre-requisites to anyone attending church; at the same time we remains true to the scriptures in unwavering allegiance to biblical truth.
WHAT A MISSIONAL COMMUNITY DOES
It CONNECTS People to God and to One Another:
- For unbelievers, this means that we engage the culture and create opportunities to connect to Jesus Christ for the first time. We seek inside-out transformation for through an experience of the gospel of Christ.
- For believers, we create environments for deeper connections with Jesus Christ, ones that foster spiritual growth and maturity.
- Because connection to God occurs best in the context of community, friendships that are real and lasting are the cornerstones of our community.

It EXTENDS God's Kingdom:
- As a missional church, we seek to extend God's kingdom by going out into communities locally and around the world to bring transformation. The goal here is to move church out from behind the walls onto the streets, workplaces, coffee shops, campuses, etc.
- We give priority to transforming the lives of the spiritually, socially, and economically neglected, both locally and globally.
