Welcome Home

For many of us, when we think about the home we grew up in, we have mostly positive and fond memories. For others of us, our experience of home was anything but pleasant. It was marked by pain, confusion, and loss. What is strange about this concept of home is that, even though we have had an imperfect experience of it, no one gives up on the longing for it. The ache for home lives in all of us—we yearn for that safe place where we can go as we are and be perfectly loved and accepted. In the “Welcome Home” series, based on the Parable of the Prodigal Son, we learn that God has made us for a perfect home—with Him. But we have all wandered from that safe place of love, the religious and irreligious alike. Thus, our insa able longing. What does it take to make our way back home? And, if we return, will God accept us, given who we are and what we have done? Let's journey together to discover God’s great work to welcome us home.
